About the studio

Blank-Leaving is a direct translation of the Chinese concept 留白, a principle from traditional Chinese painting where empty space creates balance, depth and meaning.

Founder Iriss brings inspiration from ancient Eastern art into contemporary tattooing. Rather than filling every inch of skin, the studio values restraint, composition and room for each design to breathe with the body.

We are an appointment-based tattoo studio in Auckland CBD, creating custom work across oriental ink wash, brushstroke, calligraphy, fine line, watercolour, neo traditional, colour, SMP and contemporary tattoo styles.
